5K Run/Walk and Little Heroes Fun Run

5K Run/Walk and Little Heroes Fun Run in partnership with Roanoke’s GO Outside Festival
* COSTUME CONTESTS * MUSIC * FREE REFRESHMENTS *

Saturday morning, October 19, 2019
River’s Edge Sports Complex and Roanoke River Greenway

8:00 A.M. Race day registration
9:00 A.M. Little Heroes Training Course
(fun runs/obstacle courses for ages 2-10)
9:30 A.M. 5K Superhero Run/Walk (all ages and genders; strollers and dogs on leashes welcome)
Costume judging will begin at 8:00 A.M. and continue until the Little Heroes Fun Run begins.
ALL EVENTS WILL BEGIN ON TIME, GIVE YOURSELVES TIME TO PARK IN THE RESERVE AVE. PARKING GARAGE AND GET TO THE RACE START

5K RUNNERS WILL BE CHIP TIMED!

Prizes for the first place runner, top age group winners, Best Overall Superhero adult and child costume, Most Creative adult and child superhero costume, Best Classic adult and child superhero costume, Best Team Theme, and Best Superdog costume. The race will be CANCELLED in case of inclement weather with flooding, dangerous winds, and/or lightening.

The Superhero 5K route starts near GO Fest and follows the Roanoke River Greenway to past Piedmont Park and doubles back. Walkers may customize their walks by turning back at any point. We’ll have more route details closer to race day.
PARTICIPANTS MUST PARK IN THE FREE PARKING GARAGE ON RESERVE AVENUE! Give yourselves time to get to the race site on festival grounds. Enter at the main GO Fest entrance and
race volunteers will direct you.
